ROCKET EMPIRE - TODAS PARTES (PREVIEW)

FEATURING NEW SINGLES LIMA & HEIDELBERG

Recorded from 2020-2022 in Portland, Oregon - Rocket Empire are back with their 6th studio album “Todas Partes” translated from Spanish to English “Everywhere”. The meaning behind the album title is based on where music ends up and is listened to, and cities that have a special meaning to each band member.

Having worked through the entire Covid pandemic, Jon and Dave would meet up every two weeks for 2 years to work on the album: This album has pre and post pandemic songs, and it really captures a unique time the entire world experienced. The tracks are what you can expect from Rocket Empire, lush & deep atmospheric sounds, chilled house, downtempo, dub, and bass heavy ear candy.

Lima is the perfect lead off to the new album setting the stage for the journey. Booming bass fires up the engines as we prepare for take-off!

Heidelberg turns up the heat launching into the broken beat deep end as the layers of sound envelop like a blanket of stars.

Rithma - The Great Spacious

THE TRIUMPHANT RETURN OF THE OM RECORDS WONDER ACE

Etienne Stehelin AKA Rithma returns with the first single from his upcoming new Om Records EP The Great Spacious. On the title track we’re taken on a road- trip out into a wide-open space. It starts out pretty ominous, as some trips do, not knowing quite what is going to happen or how things will turn out. The initial synth line started out as a little jam in the studio, but then it gets into a bit of resolve with a beautiful worn tape loop chord giving us the idea that things might turn out okay after all. Rithma closes it out with a nice jazzy guitar riff, played on the Rick Turner "magic guitar", which he reflects “I only pull out once every few years and it always seems to make something magic.”

KING KOOBA - RETURN OF THE KING

Long time collaborator Simone “Flash” Gordon is featured predominantly on a majority of the LP alongside Dub Pistols MC T.K. Lawrence and a guest appearance from UK battle MC Tony D.

Let this album rock the foundations of your mind. Perfect for get downs of all occasions.

THE JAZZUAL SUSPECTS - THE MANIPHESTO

Om Records’ beats department is back in session with the return of Charlie Tate’s Mushroom Jazz moniker The Jazzual Suspects. The Maniphesto LP features eight new smoker’s delights including the stand out singles ‘Pre73’, ‘Re-Klien’ and ‘Park Up’ (a follow up to fan favorite ‘This Beat’). Sit back and enjoy with headphones and your favorite libation, or if you feel like getting down, kick your shoes off and have a ball.

TWINKIDS - NOBODY LIKES ME

TWINKIDS new album, “Nobody Likes Me” is about just that—those intrusive thoughts of self-doubt that appear when you’re at your worst, and they tell you: nobody likes you. Most of these lyrics are coming from that irrational voice, when you question yourself if you’re stupid, undesirable, ugly. In the album we explore what happens to your relationships when you can’t keep those thoughts out. How it strains your love life, your friendships, your self-esteem and self-love.

“Hate Myself Around You” and “Nobody Likes Me” are the two songs leaning into those thoughts of self-doubt, while “911”, “Feeling Small”, and “I Know” splinter off from that, sort of like the aftermath or side effects. They explore themes of getting older, wondering if you never really fit in, realizing you didn’t and maybe starting to trust that voice. Then we conclude the album with “I’m Not Confused”, which actually started as an antidote to all of that, me really writing to myself all the things I needed to hear, remembering my power and embracing healing. The whole album is very depressing, but I think that song is a way out of all of that.

We hope you like our cute album about being the worst version of yourself :)

They have, perhaps, cornered the market on crafting alternative gay-empowerment anthems disguised as lush and layered love songs.

THE JAZZUAL SUSPECTS - PRE73

We’re celebrating 4/20 with the first single from the upcoming new LP The Maniphesto from The Jazzual Suspects! “Pre73” is a head nod of the mellow variety, with piano and drums building with horns, perfect for relaxing and enjoying life. Put it on and cool out.

Their laid back trip-hop sound with jazz touches (obviously) is what I like to call trans-music. It transports you to driving down the Pacific Coast Highway, in a beautiful convertible, without a care in the world.
